Hope you like Jamming too

Just got out of the shower and now I'm off to pick up some jam jars
then head over my sis' way for a day of preserving!
Hopefully we'll take some pics that I can upload later...

Last night I went to see District 9 with my dear Seamus.
It was a very good film, if a little obvious in it's parallels with apartheid, but
unfortunately I left with a heavy heart...
Everyone seems to be have all these lovely prospects and their lives are going somewhere.
Not me however, I'm left behind treading water...
Something must be done, a change must be made, if only I knew what!

Now I'm going to stop feeling sorry for myself and get going!
I'm sure a day of good old fashioned jam making will make me feel better!

Here's looking at you kid!

Yummy Plummy Jammy Whammy!

I have become so domesticated... Who would have thought, a couple of years ago,
that I'd find making jam exciting!

Well, we have a plum tree in the garden that noone really takes any notice of.
Every year someone says: look at all the plums, we must eat them all! then we half heartedly
pick a few that sit in the fruit bowl then go off...
So I decided not to let them go to waste this year. And I made plum jam!

It was really easy and turned out so yummy!!!
My sis came over last saturday to try it (and to have sushi which turned into pizza)
and she seemed to like it too.
Of course we also had to have a little photo shoot!

Look how happy I look with my jam!

This saturday me and my lovely little sis are having a jamming session.
It seems the bug is catching!!!

Now my little darling is complaing I'm taking too long
and he wants to try the brownies we made a little while ago...
Then it's back to Sense and Sensibility!

Peace Out!

nah-nah-nah-nah-naaah I'm blogging it

Just realised that in my last post I made it sound as if the damage from the
thunderstorm was the reason I hadn't posted for so long.
It was for a week, after that itwas just a case of me being a bad blogger!

Big mwah!

A Sab of many talents

So, who's been a bad blogger again?! Naughty, naughty...
The day after my last post (from my mum's house) there was a mahoosive thunder storm
and her phone, PC and modem went kaput...
I had so many more things I wanted to tell you but that was no longer an option...
So I'll just settle for telling you that I had a brilliant time!
Great friends, lovely weather, yummy food and of course the best family
anyone could wish for!
(oh, and a bit too much alcohol the last weekend)

I'll also post some pics of me working in my mum's garden!

Fun in the sun!
And yes I know that a short skirt is probably not the best choice of clothes for manual labour
but it was sunny and I wanted a tan! :)

Now I'm going to watch Ugly Betty and read Sense and Sensibility in the ad breaks!

Rock on dudes!

Skivsjö!

Sitting here listening to the sheep outside my mum's window.
How relaxing!
I love hanging out here, it's the most important part of any vacation for me...
Yesterday and today we've been working in the garden. My dear mum is so full of idea and always coming up with experiments and now she has decided to redo the whole thing. Job number one is the horseshoe shaped, raised flowerbed surrounded by a stonewall.
She's bought and taken delivery of a whole heap of rocks of all shapes and sizes and she's been chucking them over the fence and I've been washing them and building a (wobbly looking) pile!
It's hard work but loads of fun and very rewarding!

We've also been taking walks with the dog and generally just hanging 'round. Love it!

I've decided to make her a blog where she can write about her garden plans (and general dyi jobs around the house. And show off the results! I think many folks would find that interesting so that's my project for the evening... :-)

Best get off now as she still has dial-up (gasp!) and don't want it cutting out!

Simma lugnt!
(swim calmly?!)

Oh lottery-win where art thou?!

I miss my camera!!!!
I really need to buy a new one.
I have found the one I want, now it's just a matter of saving up some pennies
and getting James-in-law to eaby it for me ( he is the king of Ebay after all!)...
And I must stop lookaing at cameras and comparing them,
I'll never get a perfect one cause they cost a lot (I'd think) so all it does
is confuse me and make me wonder if I've "chosen" the right one. And that will get
me no camera at all!!

If only I was rich...

(typing with a big plaster on your index finger is tricky business!

tag/doll/thank you

This is a tag I made as a thank you for someone UKS for organising a swap.

It also fits quite nicely in with this weeks Mixed Media Mondays theme
which is Playful Dolls...

I made it using various bits and bobs around the house,
mostly pieces of some ugly earrings I picked up for next to nothing!

Thanks for looking!
